Dental Coverage

Dental plans are offered by: insurance companies, dental service plans (often called Delta Dental Plans), the Blues and managed care plans such as dental HMOs (called DHMOs). Dental benefits are often broken down into treatment categories such as diagnostic and preventive, restorative, oral surgery, endodontics (such as root canal), periodontics (treatment of diseases of the tissues surrounding the teeth), prosthodontics (replacement of missing teeth through bridgework and dentures) and orthodontics (correction and prevention of dental and oral anomalies through the use of braces and retainers). Most dental plans pay benefits in the different categories through the use of fee schedules or percentages, along with deductibles, copays, coinsurances and annual maximums. Dental plans are one of the fastest growing employee benefits and are often enthusiastically received by employees.

Once you have decided upon the type of plan, it is important to consider many other factors such as annual maximums, orthodontia coverage, and level of reimbursement, to name a few. HR&S Financial can help you analyze and design the best plan for you and your employees.
